About Active and Passive Voice
In the present continuous passive, the pattern is am/is/are + being + past participle, as in “The house is being painted.” The active version, “They are painting the house,” puts the doer first instead.
Tip Before You Start
Don’t forget “being” – it’s the word that marks an ongoing passive action. See Cambridge Dictionary’s grammar guide for more examples, or explore more English grammar quizzes.
