Unlock 2 Unit 3 The internet and technology RW Vocabulary 2

This lesson introduces the vocabulary affect, creative, download, educational, imagination, and improve through pictures, actions, and simple games.

Warm-Up – Picture & Actions

Teacher role: Model and lead
Student role: Listen, repeat, copy actions

Show a picture for each word and say the word clearly. Students repeat the word three times. Then teach one simple action for each word so students can remember the meaning with their bodies.

  • Download: pull hand down
  • Improve: thumbs up, move hand higher
  • Creative: pretend to paint in the air
  • Educational: open a book with hands
  • Imagination: point to head and look up
  • Affect: push one hand against the other to show “change”

Students then practise by matching words to meanings and guessing words using actions in pairs, which helps them remember the vocabulary easily.

In the final stage, students work in pairs to create a very simple app poster using a guided template. They present their posters to the class using short sentences, and the class responds with simple questions and applause. This allows students to use the new words in speaking and writing in a fun, low-stress way.
