1. Regular Verbs (-ed)
Add -ed to the base verb for most regular verbs.
- attend → attended
- visit → visited
- check → checked
Example: Sara attended her morning lecture.
2. Verbs ending in “y”
Change y → i and add -ed.
- study → studied
Example: She studied for her upcoming exams.
3. Irregular Verbs
These verbs do not follow a pattern. You must memorize them.
- go → went
- have → had
- eat → ate
- meet → met
Example: Yesterday, Sara went to the university early.
4. Negative Form
Use did not + base verb.
- understand → did not understand
Example: She asked questions when she did not understand something.
